Allianz Travel is your insurance company for travel in France and the rest of Europe. The insurance policies offered provide support in case of unexpected events occurring during your trip. You can only take out insurance when purchasing your train ticket.


  • What is on offer?

1. Cancellation insurance

This allows you to cancel your booking if an unexpected event occurs, and to get a refund. You must still comply with the terms and conditions and provide evidence, in particular by cancelling your booking before your journey was due to start (even if you will be getting 100% of the cost back).


2. Travel assistance

This provides support in case of unexpected events (though we would not wish anything of the sort on you!) occurring during your trip, as it covers the costs incurred by stolen luggage or repatriation.

How does it work?



Please note that insurance claims must be submitted directly to Allianz, following the process below Oui.sncf will not pay compensation directly to you.

If the unexpected has occurred and you wish to claim on your insurance, you must follow these steps:
  • Obtain the supporting document(s) that will support your claim.
  • Submit your insurance claim online on this web page.
